Reinvent

What do we want to do, what do we want to create, are we willing to make the sacrifices needed, can we persist during the difficult times and can we tolerate times of uncertainty, will we be able to adjust and continue to try when we fail?

At some point in our lives many of us will be forced to start over or wanting to start over. The task itself can be daunting, but it is an opportunity to build something new, to improve, to reinvent.

The power of the mind is key, we all have the mental capacity to achieve an ambitious, yet realistic goal, a goal that has been fully assessed.

How? Start by developing your vision, create a plan for that vision and write it down.

What do I want to do, what can I do, what did I do and what do I need to do? These are the four questions that I jot down to help me reach my goals in ultra-endurance cycling and found it to be helpful in limiting the guess work when creating a plan of action for taking on new challenges in training, racing and everyday life.

What do I want to do? This would be my end point, it has to be attainable and realistic, it must come from within and there has to be a desire fueled by passion.

What can I do? Assess my skill set in relation to what I want to do.

What do I need to do? Do I have the knowledge, can I learn or do I need help from someone knowledgeable.

What did I do? What can I learn from past experience.

Do start.

“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try”

The keyword is start, start where you are and do the best with what you have. What you have is self-belief, it is something that most of us have and if we don't then we need to find it and bring it back to the surface.

Don't wait, get started.
